Warner Bros Discovery Olympics coverage nears one billion views after two days

Streaming audiences for Warner Bros Discovery’s coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympics have already surpass the whole of Tokyo 2020 after day two.

The total unique streaming viewers for Paris 2024 on Warner Bros Discovery’s streaming platforms have already exceeded those from the entire last summer Olympic Games after only day two in Paris. The opening weekend also saw Warner Bros Discovery set a new record for retail gross subscriber acquisitions in a single day across Europe – well ahead of expectations.

It’s a boost for the newly launched Max service that is being rolled out across Europe. In the UK, viewers are watching on Discovery+, where Eurosport’s multiscreen service is also available.

The amount of time spent watching the games has also increased with viewership to Max and Discovery+ up 63% on Tokyo 2020. Five times more streaming viewers have watched the Games when compared to the same period of Tokyo 2020.

In the UK, unique viewers are up +256% compared to the same point in Tokyo 2020.
