Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) cooperates with King Abdulaziz and his Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba), to host the "Summer Forum" to train 11 students from 7 July to 1 August 2024, to qualify for participating at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics, which will take place in the Federative Republic of Brazil from 17 to 27 August 2024.
The Forum aims to train students for the participation at the Olympiad, in an effort to develop a creative and pioneering generation in the Space science and technology fields. It also raises the students and the community awareness about the importance of the Space field, as well as enhance human capabilities in the Space sector and inspire future generations to pursue careers in applied scientific and engineering fields within the sector.
The Forum targeted students from both middle and high school to participate in a training program that spans over (180) hours, which will conclude its sessions with announcing the qualified participants to represent the Kingdom globally at the Olympiad.
The Summer Forum is part of the joint efforts of CST and Mawhiba, featuring various training programs conducted over (12) months to invest in national capabilities and talents while supporting Saudi Arabia's leadership in the Space sector.
