Orange to double funds for startups in Middle East, Africa

Orange has entered into a strategic partnership with Digital Africa to enhance support and investment for startups within its incubator centers across Africa and the Middle East.

The agreement was finalized at Vivatech in Paris, with Orange Ventures Managing Partner Fayçal Adlouni and Digital Africa CEO Grégoire de Padirac leading the discussions.

The collaboration aims to bolster startups housed in Orange Digital Centers (ODC) across the region, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation. As part of this initiative, the Fuze scheme from Digital Africa will allow for potential doubling of funds for startups after a joint assessment of applications. In their first year within the ODC network, startups can receive up to $50,000 in support.

ODCs are currently established in 17 countries across Africa and the Middle East, as well as in 8 European countries.

Fayçal Adlouni, Managing Partner at Orange Ventures, emphasized, “The Orange Group is fully committed to nurturing the future champions of the technology scene in Africa and the Middle East. This arrangement, involving Orange Middle East and Africa, Orange Ventures, and Digital Africa, will collectively enable us to concentrate our resources to create an environment conducive to the success of startups in these regions.”
