Cambodia-based Smart Axiata tapped telecoms cybersecurity firm SecurityGen for software to bolster its defences, as connectivity adoption rises in the South East Asian nation.
The Axiata-owned operator launched the Next Generation Signalling Firewall (NGSF) and Intrusion Detection System (IDS) from the cybersecurity firm, stating this marked a “significant milestone” in the operator’s efforts to safeguard its infrastructure and customer data.
The NGSF system provides “comprehensive protection” for voice and data services, preventing hackers from gaining access globally.
Smart Axiata CEO Ziad Shatara said: “This achievement is not only a testament to Smart’s commitment to digital security but also reinforces Cambodia’s reputation as a nation that prioritizes and invests in the safety of its citizens’ digital experiences.”
