Neways, which specialises in mission-critical technology for leading semiconductor, connectivity and smart mobility companies, has announced the establishment of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Klang, a major city in Selangor, on the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
This strategic expansion, says the company, further strengthens Neways’ global footprint, allowing it to service its customers across all geographies with design, prototyping, production and repair services.
The company already has a global footprint, with facilities in Europe (in the Netherlands, Germany, Slovakia and Czech Republic), the Americas (the US) and Asia (China). It is currently constructing a new large-scale production and cleanroom facility in Slovakia.
With the addition of the new facility in Malaysia, Neways says it is building a strategic presence in Southeast Asia with a prominent position in the semiconductor sector.
The new facility is expected to begin production in Q4 2024. Neways will focus on developing and producing advanced modules and cabinets for some of the world’s most renowned players in the semiconductor sector. The company aims to achieve substantial growth, with plans to expand its workforce in Malaysia to over 200 employees.
This strategic move, says Neways, underscores its dedication to meet the evolving needs of its growing global customer base and further develop business in the region. Hans Büthker, CEO of Neways, comments: “The new facility in Malaysia not only fortifies our global manufacturing footprint but also propels our ambitious expansion plans in the region, with a strong focus on the semiconductor sector.”
