For the third year running, the Zain Alshaheed Park Ramadan Challenge kicks-off in strategic partnership with Suffix Events. The health & sports program was highly successful in its first two seasons and aims to encourage people of all ages to stay active and engage in sports during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The challenge kicked-off at Alshaheed Park - Phase 1, joined by Zain Kuwait Chief Corporate Affairs and Relations Officer Waleed Al Khashti, Suffix Chief Operations Officer Ahmad Al Majed, Zain and Suffix teams, and many participants from all ages.
Zain’s support to this unique sports initiative for the third year running springs from the company’s strategy to support health and sports programs in the community, especially during the Holy Month. In its past two seasons, the Zain Alshaheed Park Ramadan Challenge was highly successful with thousands of adults and children joining in to promote a healthier, more active lifestyle during fasting.
The challenge runs from 20-29 March at Phase 1 and offers people of all ages a great opportunity to join by speed-walking or running at their own time and pace inside Alshaheed Park. Participants can collect distance points and compete to top the leaderboards. Those who want to earn extra points can join the special workouts held at the park.
After signing up, participants collect their armbands from a vending machine at the park. The armbands feature a chip that tracks and registers each participant’s kilometers as they pass through the solar-powered smart arch. The leaderboard screen shows everyone’s progress in real time so every participant can check their standing and compete for a higher place.
The challenge also features many other interactive programs, including group workout sessions with several local gyms, an activation to celebrate the International Day of Happiness, a special race for people with down syndrome, the Zain Ramadan Kids Race, and more.
The Zain Alshaheed Park Ramadan Challenge targets both males and females from all ages to encourage them to keep fit and adopt a healthy and active lifestyle, not only during the Holy Month, but throughout the year.
This year, six of Zain’s strategic community partners, including Suffix, join its annual Ramadan social campaign, Zain Alshuhoor. The campaign features a wide range of humanitarian, charitable, social, religious, health, and sports programs that continue throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Zain Alshuhoor is one of Kuwait’s biggest and most successful community programs during the Holy Month. Every year, the company introduces a bigger, renewed version of the campaign that expands upon the previous year’s initiatives and programs. The campaign strives to share the blessings of this much-cherished month with the entire Kuwaiti people.
