‘Change the Story’ and give back to society with Omantel’s new Ramadan campaign

Building on last year’s successful Ramadan campaign, Omantel, the leading provider of integrated telecommunication services in the Sultanate of Oman, has launched a highly inspiring Ramadan 2023 campaign centered on the theme ‘Change the Story’.

As the holy month of Ramadan places great importance on good deeds, the campaign tells inspiring stories of their significance in our society, through the eyes of Omani heroes. A good deed done in Ramadan is believed to be worth 70 times more; hence the new campaign brings to life inspiring stories to underline the value of giving back to the community and helping others.

Kicking off the campaign, Saba Said Al Busaidi, Senior Manager of Corporate Affairs at Omantel said: “The holy month of Ramadan is a perfect time to engage in charitable activities because such acts help us cleanse our souls and earn us great rewards in the next life. Therefore, our new Ramadan campaign is inspired by the timeless values espoused by Omani society, represented in doing good deeds and engaging in community initiatives. Last year’s campaign was a resounding success and through it we touched so many lives. This year we have lined up a wider range of activities. Our goal is to engage the community, and not just employees, in bringing the joy and inter-mingling of Ramadan to the people at large.”

Omantel will host a series of community activities with active engagement of employees and members of the public, as an extension of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) work. The same humanitarian activities that had such a positive impact on the people during last Ramadan are being continued, tied to good deeds as the central theme

Omantel has adopted a three-pronged approach in this year’s campaign, covering the community sector, the health sector and the environmental sector. The campaign has been designed to be emotionally inspiring and this will be done by engaging real-life public figures in each pillar.

In addition, the Ramadan campaign also includes the "Fak Karba" initiative for the company's employees, which will promote the values of Omantel's social responsibility, and involve the company's employees in various community support activities.

The campaign will be amplified through social media, radio, and outreach activities, with ‘change the story’ being the main theme. An inspiring, creative production was launched across our Social channels, focusing on the key pillars of the campaign.
