Government launches unified digital platform to streamline services and reduce paper dependency

In a bid to enhance digital transformation and decrease reliance on paper documents for government transactions, Kuwait has initiated a new project aimed at linking 20 government agencies through a unified digital platform for seamless data exchange, according to Al-Qabas newspaper.

An informed source revealed that this platform will facilitate data sharing among government agencies, boosting production efficiency and improving public services. With this central system in place, agencies will no longer need reviewers to submit paper documents for verification; instead, verification will occur directly through the system with the relevant data-issuing agencies. This project is expected to enhance agencies’ ability to provide integrated services from start to finish, equipping them with the necessary tools and unified data for secure and effective exchanges.

The source further explained that the project connecting 20 government agencies on a unified platform will significantly reduce the time required to complete transactions, with most services for the public expected to be finalized within a single day.

Additionally, the initiative aims to minimize the use of paper and attachments, resulting in fewer errors during transactions, reduced risks, and enhanced protection and security by 80%. It is anticipated to improve citizen and resident satisfaction with services by 60%. The platform will enable the provision of integrated services without requiring users to visit multiple agencies for document verification or to address incomplete data, thereby alleviating congestion at service centers.

A budget of approximately 1.6 million dinars has been allocated for this project, which focuses on five key steps:

  1. Accelerating the digitization of services
  2. Reducing the document cycle
  3. Enhancing transaction speed
  4. Developing services in various regions
  5. Ensuring data and information protection
