Telrad Networks, a global provider of innovative LTE telecom solutions, has announced that Visionary Broadband, a multi-state Internet Service Provider (ISP), has successfully field tested the new Carrier Aggregation feature, enabling them to significantly increase capacity and offer customers higher data rate packages, the company said.
The trial was conducted using an experimental license from the FCC for the 3.5 GHz CBRS band.
Telrad is currently running Carrier Aggregation field trials using their BreezeCOMPACT software defined radio platform. The new LTE-Advanced feature can be made available to customers via a software upgrade in May of 2018. Visionary Broadband has tested the feature using both 10+10 MHz and 20+20 MHz configurations. The operator was able to achieve peak speeds of up to 200 Mbps to a subscriber. The feature supports running either contiguous carriers or non-contiguous carriers.
