Bouygues to offer services over Covage’s Public Initiative Networks

Bouygues Telecom has signed a Public Initiative Network (PIN, locally known as Reseaux d’Initiative Publique, or RIP) agreement with French infrastructure provider Covage-Tutor, under which Bouygues will gain access to Covage’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) PINs passing 210,000 premises. The deal covers a number of areas, including Paris, Calvados, Seine-at-Marne, Somme, Haute-Savoie, Hauts-de-Seine, Lille, Grand Nancy, Deux-Sarres and Moulinsles-Metz, and follows on from a similar agreement inked with Altitude Infrastructure in March. Yves Legrand, executive vice president of Technical Operations at Bouygues Telecom, said: ‘Bouygues Telecom has worked with Covage for more than ten years on networks for businesses. This new partnership is further proof of our ambitions in FTTH, namely to be present in all of France’s PINs. These PINs will enable Bouygues Telecom to reach its target of 20 million premises marketed by 2022.’
