Q-Post teams up with Turkish Post for e-commerce

Qatar Postal Service Company (Q-Post) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Turkish Post in the area of e-commerce. The agreement was signed by Q-Post chairman and managing director Faleh al-Naemi and Turkish Post chairman and director-general Kenan Bozgeyik on the occasion of the opening of ‘Expo Turkey by Qatar 2017’ yesterday.
Under the agreement, Q-Post and Turkish Post have agreed on developing a roadmap —designing a product sales plan from Turkey to Qatar and vice-versa and benefiting their customers based in both countries.
Building on its business growth, Q-Post is currently going through a holistic modernisation process involving its postal services and products, according to a press statement.
“This transformation programme is aimed at turning Q-Post into a world-class postal operator by embracing the digital age, a modern economy and a changing society. Within this context, Q-Post is currently developing a new e-commerce platform, allowing international shopping and shipping service directly from Turkey to customers’ doorstep in Qatar,” the statement noted. The new service “is in the testing process in order to bring the best-quality product to the market,” Q-Post has said, adding that the new e-commerce platform will be launched at a later stage this year.
“This e-commerce roadmap is aimed at bringing our respective postal services closer for the benefit of our valued customers and partners. Turkey and Qatar put a lot of efforts in building a strong trade alliance in the last decades and we are glad to see this friendship going a step further today in the field of postal services. I would like to thank all the board members of Turkish Post for their trust and their precious collaboration. We are extremely proud of what we achieved together,” al-Naemi said.
The e-commerce agreement with Turkish Post “marks a key milestone” in this transformation journey and is being considered the “beginning of a new partnership between Q-Post and Turkish Post”.
