As many as 142 new telecom sites have been established in the Afghanistan's southern province of Uruzgan within the current solar year, the provincial Telecommunication and Information Technology Department said in a statement the other day.
Director of the provincial Telecommunication and Information Technology Department Mawlavi Zainullah Farooqi said that 142 new telecommunication sites have been installed in different districts of the province within the past 11 months of the current solar year, according to the statement. “With the installation of the telecom sites, eighty percent of residents of the province have been provided with high-quality voice calls and internet services,” the statement quoted Farooqi as saying.
He said they were in contact with other telecommunication firms to provide people with internet services in all districts of the province. Meanwhile, local residents said they were happy to have found access to telecommunication services.
