The Telecommunications Regulatory Authority has launched the “My_Omani_Domain” campaign to introduce the Omani domain, its importance, the mechanism to obtain it, and encourage its use.
Omani domains are the top-level URLs (.Oman) and (.om).
The campaign will explain the advantages of the Omani domain, represented by legal protection under the regulations of TRA, availability of short and distinctive names, the ease of recovering it in a short time if any problem occurs and enhancing the spread of the brand.
The campaign also includes information about the registration mechanism, the names of accredited registrars in the Sultanate of Oman, and other topics.
TRA has issued a regulation regulating domain names for the management and organization of Internet website addresses (domain names) for the top two levels (.Oman) and (.om).
It aims to establish regulatory frameworks related to domain names, facilitate registration procedures, reduce their fees, and allow the registration of distinctive and shortened domain names.
The Authority is responsible for regulating and managing top-level domain names (.om) and (.oman), as per what is stipulated in the Telecommunications Regulatory Law.
