SaskTel recently announced expanded 5G coverage for nearly 50 additional cell cites around rural Saskatchewan.
Brock, Marengo, and Zealandia were the local communities of note. Expanded coverage is also coming south of Netherhill on Highway 658.
This expansion means that SaskTel’s 5G network will cover 400 cell sites around Saskatchewan, providing 5G service to hundreds of communities, and countless numbers of drivers per-day on sections of Highway 1, 11, and 16.
“Our government understands that advanced communication technologies and networks are an important catalyst for economic growth and improved quality of life for all Saskatchewan residents,” said Dustin Duncan, Minister Responsible for SaskTel. “I am pleased with SaskTel’s work to bring the next-generation of wireless connectivity to the people of our province, including those living in rural and remote areas.”
