Indonesian fiber-optic infrastructure service provider PT Mega Akses Persada (FiberStar) has increased its fibre broadband reach to 1.90 million homes passed in 135 cities spanning 17 provinces, including Sumatra, Java, Bali, East Kalimantan, South Kalimantan and South Sulawesi.
TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes that the number of homes passed surged past one million in April 2022 and reached 1.298 million by December 2022, while coverage at May 2023 had been increased to 1.415 million homes passed. Going forward, FiberStar is targeting 2.9 million homes passed by end-2024.
