Number of mobile internet connections drops in October

The number of active mobile internet connections decreased by 3.6 lakh to 11.94 crore in October compared with that of 11.97 crore in September, according to Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission data.

However, the number of broadband connections remained stagnant with no change, reported from September to October maintaining a steady figure of 1.24 crore.

According to BTRC data, the number of active mobile connections in the country increased by 5.4 lakh in October compared with that in the previous month.

The number of active mobile connections in October reached 18.96 crore, whereas in September, the figure stood at 18.91 crore.

In October, Robi Axiata saw an increase in its connection number to 5.79 crore from 5.76 crore in September.

Banglalink also experienced growth, with active connections rising from 4.28 crore in September to 4.30 crore in October.

However, Grameenphone recorded 8.21 crore active mobile connections, a decline from 8.22 crore in September.

The state-owned Teletalk also experienced a slight dip in its growth, with the number of active connections decreasing to 64.3 lakh in October compared with that of 64.4 lakh in September.
