Telekom Deutschland, the domestic fixed and mobile unit of Deutsche Telekom (DT), expanded the capacity and coverage of its mobile network at a total of 1,313 locations nationwide in the last eight weeks.
The firm rolled out 382 new sites using 4G and 5G frequencies and increased capacity at 931 existing LTE and 5G network sites.
Telekom reports that more than 95% of the population are now covered by 5G services, with the 3.7GHz frequency band network – supporting speeds of up to 1Gbps – available in over 800 towns and cities. By 2025 5G coverage will be increased to 99% of the population.
