Zain promotes sustainable living at GARDENIA

Part of its ongoing efforts to foster a more sustainable mindset in the community, Zain has sponsored the second season of GARDENIA, the unique local destination for outdoor living, interior design, and sustainable architecture. The event is organized by KAYAN Office at Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Center and joined by over 45 public and private sector organizations.

The company continues to actively participate in local creative projects that make a social impact, especially those that share Zain’s values and goals. GARDENIA’s vision complements Zain’s overall sustainability strategy that closely focuses on promoting sustainable living and encouraging every individual to recycle, reduce waste, conserve energy consumption, and adopt other sustainable practices that limit the effects of climate change.

At the event, Zain made available its very own recycled shopping tote bags, which are made entirely out of the company’s outdoor billboard ads. Visitors were encouraged to use Zain’s recycled totes for their shopping needs at GARDENIA, which can then be reused in the future. The step seeks to promote sustainable shopping, raise environmental awareness, and demonstrate a practical use case for recycling. Zain also installed recycling bins throughout the event area to promote positive change.

GARDENIA is an eco-friendly exhibition that focuses on sustainable architecture, gardening, green spaces, and outdoor living. It gathers tens of thousands of plants, trees, and flowers in one place, and aims to promote sustainable, outdoor living. The event is organized by KAYAN, a leading Kuwait-based architecture and construction office.

The event is held at the beautiful outdoor area of Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Center and stretches over 13,000 sqm. GARDENIA is joined by over 45 companies and government agencies, including the Environment Public Authority and Kuwait University’s College of Architecture. In addition, over 10 informative sessions, workshops, and seminars were held for visitors, covering topics like architecture, lighting, urban planning, gardening, internal design, and more.
