HD+ launches new mobile app HD+ Stream

German platform operator HD+ is launching a new app for the mobile use of TV channels and catch-up services at home and on the move.

HD+ Stream includes over 80 public and commercial HD channels that can be received as livestreams on a smartphone or tablet (Android/iOS). Notably, a classic HD+ subscription via Astra (19.2° East) or IP stream for the TV set is not necessary.

The app, which is available in the Google Play Store and Apple App Store, costs €8.99 per month; the subscription can be cancelled each month. To test the app, a free seven-day test period is offered.

In addition to the TV channels, HD+ Stream contains add-on functions such as restarting currently running programmes, a search function covering live TV and on-demand content, an EPG, content recommendations and a watch list for personal programme planning with a reminder function. Up to two streams can be used simultaneously on a total of five different devices.

In other EU countries, users can also use mobile streaming while travelling at no extra cost. The EPG can continue to be used free of charge after the subscription has been cancelled.

HD+ Stream is a product bundle consisting of HD+ ToGo for smartphones and tablets and HD+ IP for smart TVs. Users ownig a compatible TV set from Panasonic and, from the beginning of 2024, from Samsung, can therefore also use HD+ Stream as a TV streaming service on their smart TV at no extra cost. Up to three parallel TV streams will then be available for these customers, as an HD+ spokesperson confirmed to Broadband TV News.
