The Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) concluded its participation in the 43rd edition of GITEX Technology Week, which was held at the Dubai World Trade Center from 16 to 20 October 2023. TDRA marked this closure by extending its appreciation to its strategic partners in the Digital Government Stand, which included 30 federal entities, alongside TDRA.
TDRA's stand within the Digital Government Stand attracted significant attention from exhibition visitors, who were treated to a remarkable and unique experience. Through a series of innovative projects, TDRA effectively communicated its dedication to leveraging technology for the enhancement of digital life in the UAE. These projects provided insights into future initiatives aimed at digitizing daily life experiences and highlighted the transformative potential of technology in promoting well-being, sustainability, and economic growth.
During the closing ceremony, where partners of this year's edition were acknowledged, H.E. Eng. Majed Sultan Al Mesmar, Director General of TDRA, emphasized the importance of teamwork, commending the projects and concepts showcased at GITEX 2023. He said: “I extend my gratitude to our partners for their dedication to the Digital Government Stand and for successfully portraying the collective vision we aimed for – a unified ecosystem marked by leadership, innovation, integration, and comprehensiveness. Although we comprised thirty stands, we functioned as one team, one stand and one vision, namely, "We the UAE 2031" vision. Together, we have created of a future foresight image that reflects our confidence in the digital transformation future of the UAE, which promises to be as remarkable as it has always been. In this context, the entities participating in the Digital Government Stand showcased an impressive display of coordination, collaboration, and meticulous organization. This presentation underscores the dedication of these entities to showcase their accomplishments to the public, emphasizing the significant strides made in the digital transformation journey and the establishment of a comprehensive and seamlessly integrated digital lifestyle in alignment with the guidance of our wise leadership.”
During its participation at GITEX 2023, TDRA highlighted the services provided by ICT Fund, especially in cultivating innovative knowledge capital in ICT sector. This was evident through a set of projects that reflected investment in future capabilities, catering to both individuals and institutions. Additionally, TDRA's Innovation Office introduced several initiatives aimed at enhancing the institutional workflow, proactively anticipating the future, and managing the innovation process by leveraging cutting-edge technologies. Furthermore, TDRA showcased various projects associated with the "UAE Hackathon" initiative, one of TDRA's key initiatives designed to foster innovation and elevate the digital lifestyle in the UAE.
This year, the Digital Government Stand accommodated 30 federal entities, including: TDRA, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health and Prevention, Ministry of State for Federal National Council Affairs, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Human Resources & Emiratisation, Ministry of Culture and Youth, Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, Ministry of industry and Advanced Technology, Ministry of Climate Change & Environment, General Civil Aviation Authority, Securities And Commodities Authority, Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation, General Women's Union, Etihad water and Electricity, Emirates Schools Establishment, Emirates Health Services, Cyber Security Council, The National Space Science and Technology Center, Emirates Development Bank, Zakat Fund, Zayed University, UAE University, Higher Colleges of Technology.
