The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (Asry), the leading ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has announced the launch of its new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
Asry Managing Director, Mazen Matar praised the tireless efforts of the team, who have effectively contributed to the success of the project.
The project, which initially began in March of 2021, has successfully implemented the state-of-the-art Infor ERP system - Infor Cloud Suite Industrial Enterprise - into the company’s procedures. This enabled digital integration between all departments and divisions within the company, raising productivity and ensuring best practices at the industrial level.
System efficiency
This step came as part of the company’s ongoing efforts to improve system efficiency, digitise operations, and enhance data security by migrating the infrastructure to cloud computing. This ensures optimal use of resources, improves work flexibility, and will ultimately lead to increasing efficiency at the operational and production levels. In addition, this system will minimise costs, increase revenue, and enable effective decision-making that guarantees continuous improvement in performance levels and allow departments to work in a more transparent manner.
Mater said: “The implementation of this project is part of the company’s strategy to achieve sustainability and continue to raise the company’s position regionally and globally, by staying on par with current global tech-developments. This project represents a turning point in Asry’s history. A pivotal step in Asry’s efforts to achieve a more sustainable future ignited by the latest digital cloud system that will facilitate and automate operations.”
Sahar Ataei, the Deputy CEO and the Head of Asry Digital Transformation Project, remarked: “Through the implementation of the ERP system, comprehensive digital modifications have been made to all company procedures and operations, that will hopefully contribute to improving work flexibility and enhance the quality of customer service.
