The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has ordered the mobile operators in the country to off the internet data packages for 3 and 15 days from October 15. Customers will have the option to purchase internet data packages for just 7 or 30 days or for an indefinite period.
BTRC gave such instructions on Sunday (September 3). According to the company, they conducted a survey of mobile users and concluded that “customers are also in favor of limiting the offer packages”.
Currently, operators have 95 types of packages, with validity ranging from one hour to indefinite. However, BTRC has directed operators to limit the number of packages to 40.
About this, Post and Telecommunication Minister Mustafa Jabbar told the media that “is it possible for customers to select the preferred package from 95 types of packages? With this, people are getting confused to an extreme extent. So we have asked to reduce its number to 40”.
