More Russians paying for streaming services

Eight streamers in Russia had at least one million subscribers to their paid services as of the end of June.

According to Kommersant, quoting research by TelecomDaily, the total number of paying subscribers rose from 16.5 million to 24.2 million in the year to June 30, while the number of subscribers to streaming service (paid and free) as a whole increased by 41% year on year to 36.7 million.

As of the end of H1, Kinopoisk was the market leader with a total of 9.1 million users, of which almost 76% were paying. It was followed by ivi (7.2 million, 54%), Okko (5 million, 66%), Wink (3.9 million, 72%), Kion (3.2 million, 69%), Premier (2.4 million, 63%) and Start (1.7 million, 65%).

As a result, Kinopoisk accounted for 28.2% of the paid market, ivi 16.2%, Okko 13.5%, Wink 11.9% and Kion 9.6%.
