Azerbaijani ISP CityNet is promising faster broadband internet services for residential and business customers following the successful implementation of XGPON on its network.
Describing its decision to adopt the technology as ‘a significant step in its ongoing efforts to improve customer service and quality and contribute to the growth of businesses in Azerbaijan’, the company said XGPON will enable broadband speeds at up to 10Gbps once deployment has been completed. CityNet currently offers maximum speeds of 100Mbps over its FTTB network in Baku, Sumgait, Khirdalan, Tovuz, Masalli and Lankaran.
