Sky has introduced a series of improvements to Entertainment OS, the operating system behind its Sky Glass and Sky Stream devices.
Among the new features on Entertainment OS 1.2 are a new way to ‘manage all’ on curated Playlists, a faster way to ‘Restart’ any TV programme or film, and a new ‘continue watching’ rail for Netflix content.
A new ‘manage all’ feature makes it possible for subscribers to see and manage everything that they’ve added. Subscribers can move content from one playlist to or and delete it altogether.
Finding out what’s happened in a favourite series has also been addressed. It’s now possible to restart a programme from a Show Page, rather than by tuning directly from the channel and risking a spoiler.
If the programme is airing on a BBC channel, subscribers will be taken to the BBC iPlayer app.
A continue watching rail has also been added for Netflix and if Sky Glass is accidentally turned on via the ‘Hello Sky’ command the display will automatically be turned off after 30 seconds of inactivity.
Meanwhile, to celebrate the start of the World Cup, phrases like ‘Lionesses’, ‘It’s Coming Home’ and ‘Women’s World Cup’ have been added to voice commands to take subscribers to a dedicated page.
