O2 Slovakia has expanded its pilot fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network coverage to six additional cities. A report from Zive.sk says the Czech-owned operator is now trialling gigabit services in Trnava, Nitra, Zilina, Presov, Trencin and Kosice. O2 began a pilot FTTH service in Bratislava and Banska-Bystrica in November 2022 using infrastructure leased from Slovak Telekom. In areas outside its fibre coverage it offers home connectivity via its 4G network and a TD-LTE fixed wireless system which is available in around 350 municipalities.
