BDx Indonesia, one the largest wholesale data centre and cloud-focused operations in the Indonesian market, recently held the ground-breaking ceremony for its greenfield data centre, CGK3A, in TB Simatupang, South Jakarta.
The US$150 million data centre with 15 MW capacity was built with the objective of providing global and leading data centre services for companies and hyperscalers in Indonesia.
BDx Indonesia says that the development of CGK3A is motivated by the growth of Indonesia's digital economy, which has a value reaching US$77 billion by the end of 2022 and which is predicted to grow to US$130 billion by 2025. The CGK3A will answer the need for a strong and competent digital infrastructure to facilitate this massive growth. The data centre's addition into BDx data centre portfolio in Indonesia is also part of the company's plan to provide 70 MW data centre capacity by the end of 2023.
In addition to connectivity, this data centre, with a size of 14,127 square metres, is equipped with Tier III data centre facilities, as well as advanced security systems, automation technology and high network uptime. The data centre is built to provide operational excellence and a sustainable solution with a power usage effectiveness (PUE) of 1.4 – without compromising its productivity and scalability.
CGK3A is targeted to be fully operational by the end of 2023. It will complement the CGK3 data centre and four other data centres built by BDx Indonesia since the company's inception in June 2022.
