Verizon Wireless has announced that its ‘5G Ultra Wideband’ network now covers more than 200 million people, equivalent to roughly 60% of the US population.
The term ‘Ultra Wideband’ was originally used for the telco’s millimetre wave (mmWave) 5G service that was launched in April 2019, but later expanded to encompass Verizon’s 3.7GHz C-band rollout. C-band services were available in 46 markets (roughly 90 million people) from launch in January 2022, and are expected to cover 250 million people by 2024.
