The Czech digital infrastructure company CRA has selected the technology of Amsterdam-based Unified Streaming to power its growing on-demand video streaming workflows.
CRA is using two core software products, Unified Origin and Unified Packager, that allow it to stream from one single source to all devices including DRM (digital rights management) support. Unified tech also enhances CRA’s workflows so that they can now serve more concurrent requests.
CRA has recently experienced demand for its services outside its normal region. In addition to the outsize OTT role that it plays in Czech Republic and other countries (Slovakia and Romania), the company has also gone global.
Newly contracted to provide intercontinental streaming platform services, CRA will now cover North and South America, Africa, East Asia and Japan.
Commenting on the development, Petr Mozís, CRA commercial director, said: “Content protection is an important topic for us as well as for our customers. We are continuously working on providing top quality services. Therefore, we welcome the opportunity to improve and innovate our model of content processing and distribution”.
Simon Westbroek, VP global sales and partnerships at Unified Streaming, added: “I am happy that we support CRA in its ambitions to grow their business and that our software will enable this. One of our strengths at Unified is broad device- and workflow-agnostic support and stability, and multilevel DRM is a must-have for global streaming demands. Helping CRA vastly extend its reach fits perfectly with what we aim to do”.
