Brazilian ISP Brisanet has issued an operational update confirming that its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network now passes 6.180 million homes in nine north-eastern states: Ceara, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraiba, Pernambuco, Alagoas, Piaui, Sergipe, Maranhao and Bahia. In total, coverage is available in a total of 154 towns and cities. Going forward, Brisanet expects to add another one million homes passed to its network footprint by the end of 2023.
Brisanet claimed 1.121 million fixed broadband subscriptions as of end-January, with a further 216,525 subscriptions served by its Agility Telecom wholesale unit. A total of 90 franchisees currently use the Agility network for connectivity.
