SEC’s Dawiyat plans to pump SAR 9.8 bln investments

Dawiyat Integrated Telecommunications & Information Technology Co., wholly owned by Saudi Electricity Co. (SEC), announced its ambitious strategic plans for the future of telecommunication industry and digital economy, with investments of $2.6 billion (SAR 9.8 billion), Saudi Press Agency reported.

Under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy and with the support of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), Dawiyat aims to expand its infrastructure and services to meet the growing demand for reliable and high-speed internet services.

At LEAP Tech 2023 Conference, Dawiyat added that its expansion in building a fiber-optic network across the Kingdom leads to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that high-speed broadband services reach remote areas.

In addition, investments in global fiber optics provide access and connectivity to its major data centers and telecom operators in Saudi Arabia, making the company a leader in the global telecom market. SEC’s subsidiary is building three large data centers with a capacity of 144 megawatts, and a network of 100 small data centers spread throughout the Kingdom, which will enable customers to process data faster and more efficiently.

The company confirmed that its future strategic investments in digital infrastructure will enhance Saudi Arabia’s digital transformation and business development as its comprehensive strategy aims to place Dawiyat at the forefront of the telecommunications industry, and to provide integrated and innovative solutions to its customers.
