stc announces strategic partnership with the Mass Communications Department at Kuwait University to support students

Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc,a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, formed a strategic partnership with the Mass Communications Department within the College of Arts at Kuwait University consisting of sponsoring a lounge for students and organizing several activities. The initiative was initiated under the umbrella of stc’s extensive corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, which focuses on several key topics including supporting the youth.

stc indicated in a statement that the new formed partnership includes the sponsorship of the dedicated lounge for students called “stc Diwaniya”, as well as other forms of activities and events in support of students throughout their studies. The “stc Diwaniya”, now open to students, is located in the Mass Communications Department at Kuwait University and serves as a recreational area for students to unwind and rest in between or after lectures. The lounge has also been equipped with a range of amenities, including all requirements agreed upon in collaboration with the Mass Communications Department. Aside from the lounge, stc will be hosting a series of events and activities that aim to empower and engage students as part of the partnership.

The partnership agreement between stc and Kuwait University was sealed in the presence of Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communications at stc and Mr. Ahmad Al Nowaibet, Public Relations and Social Media Manager and the lead person of this partnership, Dr. Heba K. Al-Musallam, Faculty Member and Head of the Mass Communications Department, Maryam Al-Kandari, student and member of the Cultural Committee at the Mass Communications Department, as well as Ahmed Al-Awadi, Head of the Creative Club at the Mass Communications Department. The opening ceremony for “stc Diwaniya” was attended by students from the Mass Communications Department, in addition to previous graduates that have become influencers or had an impact in the media such as Hamad Al-Ali, also known as Hamad Qalam, Salman Al Najadi, Bibi AlKhudairi, Abdulrahman Aldin.

Commenting on the partnership, Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communications at stc, said, “We are proud and keen on this partnership with the Mass Communications Department at Kuwait University because we believe communication in all its forms plays a big role in sending out the proper message to support and empower the youth. The activities organized under this initiative aim to empower students and assist them as they pursue their studies and get ready to take on their future careers. We will also be organizing events and activities that will provide students with experience that they can then use to their benefit.”

In recognition of the fruitful collaboration, AlJasem thanked Dr. Al-Musallam and the team at Kuwait University for their cooperation and commitment, as well as the graduates and students who attended the opening ceremony. She also thanked the team at stc for their hard work and efforts in completing the lounge, which was highly praised by attendees.
