Omantel scoops two awards for marketing campaigns at MENA Effie Awards 2022

Omantel, the leading provider of integrated telecommunication and technology services in the Sultanate of Oman, has scooped two awards for its marketing campaigns at the MENA Effie Awards presented in Dubai recently, attended by the marketing Who’s Who in the region.

The 13th edition of MENA Effie Awards honored Omantel for its campaign ‘The Future Shapers’ in the Branded Content and Entertainment category, and for the ‘From Imagination to Reality’ campaign in the Internet and Telecom category. Both were animated films that focused on storytelling through the eyes of children.

Usama Al Kiyumi, Manager of Marketing Campaigns Home & Enterprise at Omantel, said, “As the Effie Awards represent the pinnacle of glory in the world of marketing, we are ecstatic that two of our campaigns were recognized for their excellence. The recognition is a tribute to Omantel’s focus on creating campaigns that not only effectively market its solutions, but also contribute to boosting the brand’s reputation in the region. What is even more remarkable is that besides winning in two categories, we made it to the shortlist in seven categories, which is a testament to Omantel’s continuous strive towards excellence.”

‘The Future Shapers’ was designed to connect and create a stronger bond with the future generation of Omanis, the youth. The animated film which communicates the history of Oman in an entertaining way was launched on the National Day, and screened in cinemas, schools and online.

The ‘Imagination to Reality’ video campaign effectively communicated its ICT solutions to emerging businesses through an unexplored approach to B2B marketing, by telling the story through the eyes of those who have the most imagination, the youth. The campaign generated high awareness, brand scores and new client acquisitions for Omantel’s ICT solutions.
