Algerie Telecom (AT) has trebled its top residential fiber broadband internet speed from 100Mbps to 300Mbps. The state-backed telco’s range of ‘Idoom Fiber’ speeds now includes 20Mbps, 50Mbps, 100Mbps, 200Mbps and 300Mbps. Existing customers subscribed to a 100Mbps package will be automatically switched to the new 300Mbps service at the same monthly price of DZD6,999 (USD50.30). Existing customers receiving 50Mbps service will be upgraded to 100Mbps at an unraised tariff of DZD3,500. For new 50Mbps subscriptions, the price has dropped to DZD2,999, while the new 200Mbps option is priced at DZD4,999. New Idoom Fiber customers can benefit from a free optical modem offer, as can eligible Algerie Telecom ADSL customers making the switch to fibre.
For those outside fibre broadband network zones, Algerie Telecom has simultaneously introduced a new up-to-50Mbps (download) VDSL package – upping its previous advertised peak xDSL speed from 20Mbps, with the new 50Mbps option costing DZD2,999 a month and zero one-off connection cost.
