Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, enabling the digital transformation in Kuwait, announced its participation as the main sponsor in the annual fundraising marathon ‘RunKuwait’, organized by the Fawzia Sultan Healthcare Network (FSHN), a leading nonprofit healthcare organization in Kuwait that provides high-quality care across a number of clinical specialties.
The marathon will be RunKuwait’s 10th annual event and will was held on 29 October 2022 at the Marina Crescent, where stc was present as one of the main sponsors of the marathon that is dedicated towards supporting children with special needs. stc's sponsorship falls in line with the Company’s ongoing commitment to support and empower the community through diverse initiatives, while simultaneously focusing on several key areas defined under its CSR framework. Through its active contributing role, stc has participated in several similar initiatives that were organized to spread awareness and support a specific cause within the community.
stc’s sponsorship and participation included several healthy sports activities and held many competitions for the participants in the charity race and their families, where valuable prizes to the first place winners were presented by stc as well.
stc was honored by the organizing committee for sponsoring this humanitarian initiative and its prominent and vital role in the field of social responsibility. Anfal Abdel Rahim from stc corporate communications team who handled all aspects of this humanitarian initiative, represented the company during the honoring of the main sponsors of the charity race.

Founded in 2006, we started as a specialized physiotherapy clinic, and pioneered a new standard of excellence within the field in Kuwait. To achieve this, we have launched a number of social driven initiatives aimed at raising awareness about the main health challenges in our community. She added,” RunKuwait, an annual 5K and 10K charity walkathon, is FSHN’s main fundraising event in Kuwait and has grown to be one of Kuwait’s most prominent charity events. The walkathon aims to raise funds for children of low-income families who do not have access to appropriate healthcare services. It raises both awareness and funds to support the Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center (CERC) - our non-profit dedicated clinic for children.”

Initiated in 2012, RunKuwait aimed to support the treatment of children at the Fawzia Sultan Children’s Center. Since then, the marathon gained a wide following base that led to raising more then KD50,000 in 2019 to fund over 2,000 treatment sessions for children. The marathon is open to the public, regardless of age or fitness level, with the main objective being to support a great cause. Participants can select the 5k or 10k distances based on their preferences and complete the marathon and their own pace. The registration fee paid to participate in the event will be donated to support the children with special needs
