Belgian cable operator VOO is increasing the down/upload speeds provided by its premium ‘GIGA MAX’ packages to 500Mbps/50Mbps from 400Mbps/20Mbps previously.
In areas where the company’s 1Gbps (GIGA) service is available – currently 25 municipalities in the Wallonia region and six in Brussels – customers will see their uplink increased from 40Mbps to 50Mbps.
Commenting on the speed upgrade, Bart D’Olieslager, VP Marketing at VOO, said: ‘Our priority is to ensure the best connectivity and entertainment experience for our customers, which is why we are constantly investing in our network. The move to 500Mbps download speed for all our GIGA MAX packages is a further illustration of this. And by the end of 2023, half our customers will have GIGA.’
