Oman-based Khimji Ramdas Group has announced that one of its units Eshraqa has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Education (MoE) to help enhance the infrastructure of government schools in Wilayat Dima Watayeen, by equipping them with smart TV, smart interactive boards and security cameras.
By providing digital amenities such as smart TVs and innteractive boards, Eshraqa aims to help the schools make lessons more engaging, interactive and productive for both students and teachers, said the statement from KR Group.
Built on the premise that the private sector has a responsibility towards the development of local communities and empowering talented individuals in the sultanate, Eshraqa works toward nation-building at the grassroots, said the statement.
It aspires to contribute meaningfully to the education sector by building infrastructure that will lead to the enhancement of knowledge, skills, and capabilities in society, it added.
This constant support to ‘education’ comes as a continuation of Eshraqa’s initiatives to develop and improve the sector, by providing infrastructure that is at par with modern education globally and it comes in line with Oman’s Vision 2040 goals, remarked Nailesh Khimji, the Director of Khimji Ramdas Group, after signing the deal with Majid bin Said Al Bahri, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Administrative and Financial Affairs at the third Oman Science Festival, held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC).
The infrastructure and learning environment of schools have a direct impact on students and teachers, and on the quality of education, stated Khimji.
"This MoU is thus an endeavour to empower students; and support the efforts of educators in Dima Watayeen, to deliver a comprehensive educational experience that will positively contribute to the future of Omani youth and strengthen the sultanate’s human capital," he noted.
Lauding the initiative, Al Bahri said: "Children across the country deserve a quality education to embark on their life’s journeys successfully and become the leaders of tomorrow. We thank Khimji Ramdas' Eshraqa for their commitment to the development and progress of local communities; and urge other private sector companies to participate in similar efforts that help strengthen the education sector."
"As a body that focuses on community well-being in multiple capacities, Eshraqa has and will always support learning initiatives as part of its core belief to build better communities through education," he stated.
"Under its core pillar ‘Eshraqa Learns’ the team has delivered a broad range of initiatives across Oman, since its inception in 2016, and has supported 82 government schools across five wilayats namely Samail, Bidbid, Izki, Ibra, and Bidiyiah," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
