China’s newest 5G provider, China Broadnet, has extended 5G coverage to all 31 of the country’s provincial-level regions.
The Global Times writes that the operator officially launched commercial services in the final two regions, Tibet and Qinghai, this week.
The operator – which adopted the English-language brand China Broadnet in June this year – is the only Chinese cellco with rights to spectrum in the 700MHz band and is rolling out its mobile network via a co-building and sharing agreement with market leader China Mobile. The pair are aiming to deploy a total of 480,000 700MHz base stations by the end of the year.
