It's been a little over three years since South Korea launched commercial 5G services, and now the number of 5G subscriptions has exceeded 25 million, which is about half the country's population
This is according to the Ministry of Science and ICT as of the end of July.
5G accounted for around a third of mobile phone subscriptions but more than 72 percent of total traffic.
On the other hand, 4G and LTE accounted for about 62 percent of mobile subscriptions but only about a quarter of all traffic.
5G devices include not just phones, but also tablet PCs, smart watches and smart cars.
