Kyrgyz cellco Nur Telecom (O!) reported on its website that it switched on hundreds of new 4G LTE base stations over the course of the summer and modernised many sites, improving the network capacity in more than 200 settlements.
The recent work encompassed areas in all seven regions of Kyrgyzstan – Chuy, Issyk-Kul, Talas, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Osh and Batken – and the capital Bishkek. The O! LTE network now covers more than 99% of the population.
O! has also opened a 5G demo/pilot zone at its main retail store in Bishkek, a move which followed inaugural 5G tests carried out last month.
