Omantel, the leading provider of integrated telecommunication services in the Sultanate of Oman, is implementing a number of social initiatives that aim at giving back to the community and ensuring better life for everyone.
Omantel, being a responsible organization, seizes every opportunity to serve and ensure the welfare of the community on top of its priorities. To this end, Omantel has announced that it has renewed its partnership with Dar Al Atta’a Association to renovate the houses of underprivileged families. The move comes as part of Omantel’s CSR programs to reinforce the sense of integration and solidarity in the Omani society.
During the signing ceremony of the agreement, the importance of the partnership and continues cooperation between the two parties over the past seven years was discussed, which contributed to the maintenance and restoration of more than 170 houses of the underprivileged families in various governorates across Oman. The agreement was signed by Talal bin Said Al Mamari, CEO of Omantel, and Honorable Maryam bint Essa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Dar Al Atta’a Association.
This agreement renews the partnership between the two parties to include renovation and maintenance of 22 houses at a cost of OMR 100,000. The ‘My House, My Shelter’ Program is one of the programs implemented by Dar Al Atta’a to maintain houses that are selected by the Development Committees of the Ministry of Social Development. The tenders for renovating and maintaining houses in different wilayats are awarded to local SMEs at the same wilayat.

On her part, Honorable Mariam bint Essa Al Zadjali, Chairperson of Dar Al Atta’a Association, praised the partnership with Omantel and noted that the support provided by Omantel to the Association initiatives reflect the great role Omantel plays within its CSR programs.
