Singaporean fixed broadband and mobile services provider M1 has announced a multi-year project to provide far-reaching 5G standalone (SA) offshore coverage for the southern coast of Singapore, including the surrounding waters of the southern islands.
The project will be carried out in partnership with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) and the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), and allow the operator to provide a 5G SA network to trial, develop and deploy new maritime 5G use cases under the IMDA Innovation and Ecosystem Testbed Programme and the MPA Innovation Lab.
