YahClick and Phase3 alliance promises satellite broadband throughout Nigeria

Africa’s Phase3 Telecom, an independent aerial fibre optic network infrastructure and telecommunications service provider, has partnered with satellite broadband service YahClick to offer high-speed, low-latency satellite broadband services.

As a result of this partnership, say the companies, satellite broadband services will be available throughout Nigeria, focusing on unserved and underserved communities.

The partnership between Phase3 and YahClick represents a strategic collaboration to make internet connectivity available to residential and business users throughout Nigeria, bypassing the infrastructure deployment challenges and reaching even the most remote regions.

Muhammed Bashir, Vice President, Digital Transformation and Innovation of P3Tech, a division of Phase 3 Telecom, explains: “Our satellite broadband services will provide tangible benefits in accessibility, service, cost and socio-economic development to the unserved and underserved homes and businesses in the area, unlocking all the opportunities that reliable, cost-effective satellite broadband products afford.”

Stanley Jegede, Phase3’s Executive Chairman promises “a truly extensive satellite coverage service with a range of product options”.

Timelines for the new service have not yet been offered.

YahClick is an internet broadband service provided by global satellite operator Yahsat and its partner Hughes Network Systems using Ka-band satellite technology. It has a coverage area of 28 countries.

Phase3 Telecom provides connectivity, network management and data storage services to wholesale, enterprise and retail customers across West Africa. The company was incorporated in 2003 and is headquartered in Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
