Tigo has launched what it describes as the first 5G service in Guatemala. In the initial launch phase, interested consumers can access the network at a trio of Guatemala City-based ‘Experience Centres’, which are located at Paseo Cayala, the Miraflores shopping centre and the Oakland Mall. A total of ten 5G-compatible Samsung handsets are already available via the company’s retail stores.
Tigo has not confirmed which spectrum band the 5G network utilises, nor has the cellco disclosed a full network rollout timetable.
