The Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC) calls on the public to submit their input on the Spectrum Use Regulations of Space Science, Radio Astronomy & Metrology Services
Consulting on the proposed regulations comes as a part of CITC’s efforts to implement the National Spectrum Strategy (2020-2025), which aims to enable the various uses of the radio spectrum through the development of policies and regulatory procedures to ensure fair access to spectrum by earth observation systems, space sciences and meteorological services in Saudi Arabia. The regulations include the allocation of radio spectrum for meteorology, radio astronomy, earth observation, remote-sensing satellites and space research services as defined in the international radio regulations (ITU RR). The regulations specify terms of using spectrum for active and passive components of these radio services.
