Logicom to spotlight how digital transformation is reshaping Qatar’s oil and gas sector

Over the last couple of years, the region’s oil and gas sector has been focused on two significant aspects – navigating market volatility and achieving sustainability.

As the industry experiences highs and lows due to rising and diminishing consumer demand, price fluctuations and geopolitical issues, organisations in this sector are increasingly looking to embrace digital transformation to address the ongoing challenges.

For the oil and gas sector, embracing digital innovations can bring a plethora of benefits such as reduced project costs, quicker project completion times, and improved operations and productivity. More importantly, by adopting advanced digital solutions, oil and gas players can harness the value of their data to make strategic decisions to realise not only their commercial goals but also their sustainability objectives. In the GCC, where countries are predominantly dependent on the hydrocarbon sector, member states are doubling down on their efforts to adopt digital technologies in order to achieve economic diversification and address Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues. Among these nations is Qatar, which is one of the world’s largest exporters of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

In order to help organisations in Qatar’s oil and gas sector, Logicom, the value-added distributor for Autodesk, will host an in-person workshop focused on how digital technologies can help transform their operations.

The event, which will be held on 30th June 2022 at the Sharq Villa Spa & Hotel in Doha, will look into how oil and gas companies can maximise their data to enhance and accelerate their workflows as well as identify new opportunities for business growth.

“Logicom has maintained a strong and sustainable presence in the Gulf region for over two decades through strategic partnerships. Our core capabilities revolve around creating value for our vendors and partners across the region. More importantly, we also make sure to empower customers by increasing their awareness and enabling them access to the latest cutting-edge technologies,” said Renjith KS, Business Unit Manager Upper Gulf for Autodesk, Logicom.

He added, “We bring vast expertise and experience to customers in a wide array of sectors including energy, utilities and telecommunications. Our partners and technical resources are well-adept and certified in helping organisations in the oil and gas industry to streamline operations, reduce plant downtime and achieve zero lost time accident records. We aim to constantly support our customers in maximising the value of their data to achieve their sustainability agenda as well as long-term ROI.”

The upcoming event, according to KS, will highlight Logicom’s commitment to delivering the highest standards of services in supporting organisations in the Qatari oil and gas sector to conceptualise, design, build and manage their projects with the help of Autodesk innovations.
