Metro Green Line 3 runs a Wi-Fi test in Abassia Station in cooperation with Orange Egypt

As part of the Ministry of Transportation and the National Authority of Tunnels’ vision to enhance passengers’ experience in public transportation in Egypt, RATP Dev Mobility Cairo launches a free public Wi-Fi pilot test at Abassia Station in Metro Green Line 3, in cooperation with Orange Egypt. This step comes as an endeavor to provide passengers with distinguished technological services and to enhance the overall passenger’s experience in Green Line 3 by implementing new technologies in the stations.

The company aspires to generalize the Wi-Fi experience in cooperation with Orange Egypt to all Green Line 3 stations to guarantee the ultimate comfort and provide integrated services to its passengers.

Commenting on this progression, Wadii Bouchiha, CEO of RATP Dev Mobility Cairo, said,” By implementing a public free Wi-Fi service at Green Line 3 stations, we show our continuous strive to improve the wellbeing of Cairo passengers, with the same international standards of RATP Dev Group that are applied all over the world”.

Bouchiha added “Based on our experience that extends to more than 120 years, we believe that in today’s world, technology and connectivity have a huge impact on customer satisfaction. RATP Dev Mobility Cairo's goal and prime mission, as the company in charge of operating Metro Green Line 3 and LRT, is to provide state-of-the-art transportation services to the people of Cairo, and to break stereotypes that tend to present the metro as a hectic and exhausting mode of transportation”.

For his part, Hisham Mahran, VP Enterprise line of business in Orange Egypt, expressed his contentment with launching Orange’s experimental Wi-Fi services at the Abbasiya metro station, which is a key station on the third line, as part of Orange’s enterprising strategy in the Egyptian market, which aims to sustain its position as a coalesced provider of communications and technology services through a package of products and services for individuals and institutions.

The preliminary test is considered a new step for orange’s progress in Egypt, which works to deliver comprehensive solutions for Internet services in public transportation and public places all over the nation.

RATP Dev Mobility Cairo’s preference for Orange Egypt is primarily due to the great success of the investments that Orange has made in its smart networks and infrastructure, in addition to Orange’s leading position in “Wi-Fi” services in public places, which enabled it to become the telecommunications company that provides the fastest and highest quality of internet services in Egypt. It is worth mentioning that RATP Dev Mobility Cairo digitalized access to its services by launching a modern website, to fill out subscription forms online for the first time in Cairo Metro history and also state-of-the-art mobile app (Mobility Cairo) store to make trip planning easier and information handy for passengers. In addition, RATP Dev Mobility Cairo has put in place a bilingual call center and a Facebook page to facilitate passengers’ access to Metro Green Line 3 services.
