stc sponsors graduation ceremony for disabled students

Kuwait Telecommunications Company – stc, a world-class digital leader providing innovative services and platforms to customers, announced its main sponsorship of the graduation ceremony honoring students with physical disabilities. The ceremony was held under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education and Research, Dr. Ali Al-Mudhaf, in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for Special and Specific Education, Dr. Abdulmohsen Al-Huwailah.

Engineer Maziad Alharbi, CEO of stc, and Danah AlJasem, General Manager of Corporate Communications at stc, attended the ceremony where 106 students with physical disabilities were honored amongst their proud families and teachers. Members from the Ministry of Special Education, headed by Ali Al Otaibi, Director of the Special Education Department, also attended the graduation. stc was the main and exclusive sponsor of the graduation ceremony that comes in line with its CSR framework and its keenness to collaborate and support the different initiatives launched by the government entities which benefit the society. During the ceremony, stc distributed gifts to the excelling students in recognition of their hard work. It is worth mentioning that the graduation ceremony included students from 12 different schools for the 1st time in Kuwait as part of the MOE initiative to bring all students together under one roof to celebrate their success.

While giving his speech during the ceremony, Alharbi, CEO of stc, expressed his happiness and pride in having stc celebrate alongside the students at their graduation. He said, “We are proud and honored to celebrate the success of our sons and daughters on this special day. On behalf of the team at stc, I would like to congratulate all graduates on their outstanding achievements and wish them more successful achievements in the future.”

Alharbi added, “At stc, we greatly value and recognize the importance of supporting hardworking students as they pursue their educational path across various fields and professions. This approach stems from our strong belief in empowering the younger generation and driving them to excel in their chosen paths as they are the future leaders of our beloved country. We find it crucial to continuously support the progressive development and innovation of concepts across various fields. It is now up to our sons and daughters, our graduates, the backbone of our nation, to drive the changes and progress that will lead to a brighter and prosperous future.”

In this regard, Alharbi elaborated on stc’s strategic approach towards supporting and backing the education sector in Kuwait. The strategy comes as a reflection of stc’s pioneering role in the advanced telecom industry as well as an enabler of digital transformation. Alharbi said, “stc has been and will remain an advocate for youth development and education. The Company participates in various initiatives that support innovation and activities that assist the younger generation in achieving their goals and aspirations. Through this approach, we will continue to explore opportunities that will create a positive impact within our community. stc is committed to its role as a leading pioneer within the private sector as a supporter of talented individuals and concepts that benefit the community.”

Alharbi concluded his speech by thanking the exemplary students, the team at the Ministry of Education, the teachers, stc’s team, and all those who attended the ceremony. He then congratulated the students on accomplishing this critical chapter as they continue to pursue their educational path moving forward.

It is worth mentioning that stc has been a long-time supporter of students and graduates as the Company has participated in numerous events, with the most recent being partnering with the Kuwait Association for Needy Families in their special event for orphans in honoring excelling students and stc’s participation in the recent job fairs held at different Kuwaiti universities. These initiatives fall in line with the Company’s strategy to empower and attract ambitious Kuwaiti talents who fit stc’s dynamic culture.

stc’s participation and sponsorship is in line with its CSR framework, which has addressed the most common topics within its key pillars, which are health, the environment, entrepreneurship, and the youth empowerment.
