Huawei cloud service sees robust growth in Bangladeshi market

China's telecom giant Huawei on Wednesday said its cloud service is gaining popularity in the Bangladeshi market.

The company said the Bangladeshi government is using HUAWEI CLOUD in meeting myriads of digital needs, with many leading local and multinational companies also benefiting from the cloud service.

In February, it provided cloud service for the virtual edition of Bangladesh's largest annual book fair.

The Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) has used the HUAWEI CLOUD service to build a National e-Government Cloud, and its National Digital Foundation Platform with unified cloud infrastructure, according to Bangladeshi State Minister for ICT Division, Zunaid Ahmed Palak.

Huawei said its cloud service has contributed a lot as BCC Cloud has served 30 plus departments and organizations and hosted 50 plus projects.

The government of Bangladesh is benefiting from HUAWEI CLOUD as projects like integrated budget and account system for the Ministry of Finance, vaccination system and e-government ERP project have been well operating with BCC Cloud, it added.

Pan Junfeng, chief executive officer of Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd, said, "Huawei Bangladesh is very serious about its cloud services and solutions, and wants to expedite the digital transformation in the country through its cloud services."

He said HUAWEI CLOUD has already helped Bangladesh reap the benefits of digitalization, adding, "We are ready to modernize the power and other sectors with our cloud-based solutions."

In his speech recently at an event in Singapore, Zeng Xingyun, president of HUAWEI CLOUD Asia-Pacific, reviewed HUAWEI CLOUD's rapid growth in 2021 and its advantages in localized services in the Asia-Pacific market.

In 2021, HUAWEI CLOUD's major customers in the Asia-Pacific region increased by 156 percent, and the number of ecosystem partners grew by 90 percent, Zeng said.

"What's more exciting is that revenue of Huawei's partners rose by 150 percent, which is even higher than HUAWEI CLOUD's revenue," he noted.

George Lin, head of Enterprise Business Group, Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh) Ltd, said, "HUAWEI CLOUD has grown rapidly in the region with remarkable growth."

To keep up with the pace and help industries tap into more potential, Huawei said its cloud service is bringing new cloud solutions and services to the Asia Pacific region in 2022, such as global network acceleration service GA, real-time audio and video service SparkRTC, and software development production line DevCloud.
