Tunisie Telecom launches digital literacy campaign after completing white-spot project

Tunisie Telecom announced the launch of the ‘Ichmilni’ digital literacy campaign across around 100 villages in previously under-served areas of Tunisia. The initiative aims to raise awareness of digital services among residents and local businesses, in communities where mobile internet connectivity has been deployed as part of Tunisie Telecom’s white-spot project, originally agreed with the country’s government at the end of 2017.

The operator said that all 94 areas within this white-spot project have now been covered, including 164 schools and 59 heath centres. The broadband deployment, benefitting a population of 180,000, was agreed as part of the government’s ‘Digital Tunisia 2020’ programme.
